When that expert leaves, the newly transferred knowledge still resides in only one person\u2019s head. &nbsp;<em><strong>In terms of the risk of knowledge loss, you&#8217;re still no better off&#8230;<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"750\" height=\"133\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ekpubs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Knowledge-flows-direct1.png?resize=750%2C133&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"knowledge flows from one person to the next\" class=\"wp-image-1837\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On the machine side, much of that previous human expert knowledge is being programmed into more accurate and efficient automated systems.
